Even in this time of economic slowdown and job uncertainty, campus placements at top B-Schools is in full swing
The National Institutes of Technology are seeing a strong Placement season despite the economic slowdown. Economic Times reports that NIT Surat, Warangal, Calicut and Jalandhar have bagged more job offers through Campus Placements and 30-50% higher salary packages than last year. The roles in demand? Coding, business analytics and software development. Slowdown-hit FMCG and auto firms are staying away, but that’s being offset by recruiters such as Salesforce, Amazon, Oracle and Qualcomm. Meanwhile, pre-placement offers at both old and new IITs have jumped by 19-24%.
In the hunt for talent on Indian campuses, early trends show Amazon as the top recruiter among E-commerce and tech companies with Walmart-owned Flipkart following closely. At the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), where final placements are underway, Amazon is ahead. It also leads in summer placement offers at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and the schools expect this trend to continue for the finals as well.
E-commerce giants had hired Talents from NIT’s for emerging technologies such as
- Artificial Intelligence (AI),
- Big data,
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Machine learning (ML).
